Ingredients
2 oz Tequila Blanco (100% blue agave)
4 oz fresh orange juice
3–4 fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
0.5 oz grenadine
Ice cubes
Orange slice for garnish (optional)
Whole strawberry for garnish (optional)
Instructions
1. Place sliced strawberries in a cocktail shaker and gently muddle until juicy and fragrant.
2. Add tequila and fresh orange juice to the shaker, then fill halfway with ice.
3. Shake vigorously for 15–20 seconds until well chilled.
4. Fill a highball or Collins glass with fresh ice and pour grenadine into the bottom.
5. Slowly strain the shaken mixture over the ice to create a layered sunrise effect.
6. Do not stir to maintain the layered look.
7. Garnish with an orange slice and a whole strawberry, then serve immediately.
Notes
Use freshly squeezed orange juice for the brightest flavor.
Tequila Blanco works best for a clean and crisp taste.
For a mocktail version, omit tequila and top with sparkling water or lemon-lime soda.
Adjust sweetness by reducing grenadine or adding a squeeze of fresh lime juice.
You can prepare the strawberry, tequila, and orange juice mixture ahead of time and refrigerate until ready to assemble.
