Ingredients
1 cup brewed hibiscus tea, cooled
1 1/2 cups frozen pineapple chunks
1 medium banana, frozen
1/2 cup coconut water or plain water (optional)
1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
1 teaspoon fresh lime juice (optional)
Instructions
1. Place one hibiscus tea bag or 1 tablespoon dried hibiscus flowers in a cup and pour 1 cup of boiling water over it.
2. Steep for 5–10 minutes, then remove tea bag or strain flowers and let tea cool completely.
3. In a high-speed blender, add the cooled hibiscus tea, frozen pineapple chunks, and frozen banana.
4. Add optional ingredients such as coconut water, sweetener, or lime juice if desired.
5. Blend on high speed for 45–60 seconds until completely smooth and creamy.
6. Adjust consistency by adding more tea or water as needed.
7. Pour into a glass and serve immediately, garnished with pineapple or mint if desired.
Notes
Use frozen fruit to keep the smoothie thick and cold without diluting flavor.
Brew hibiscus tea ahead of time and chill in the fridge for convenience.
To increase protein, add a scoop of protein powder or Greek yogurt.
For added fiber and nutrients, consider adding chia seeds, flaxseed, or avocado.
Taste after blending and adjust sweetness with maple syrup, honey, or a pitted date if needed.
