A playful dessert that cleverly mimics deviled eggs, featuring rich, egg-shaped chocolate brownies with a sweet, creamy, yellow-tinted cream cheese filling. A whimsical and delicious treat perfect for Easter or spring gatherings.

  • Total Time: 2 hours
  • Yield: 12-15 brownie eggs 1x

Ingredients

Scale

1 box fudge brownie mix (plus ingredients on box)

8 ounces cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

2 cups powdered sugar, sifted

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

A few drops of yellow food coloring

Optional: Paprika or red sprinkles for garnish

Instructions

1. Prepare and bake the brownie mix in a 9×13 inch pan lined with parchment paper according to package directions.

2. Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan, then on a wire rack.

3. Use an egg-shaped cookie cutter to cut out as many shapes as possible from the cooled brownie slab.

4. Gently scoop a shallow, oval-shaped well in the center of each brownie egg with a small spoon or melon baller.

5. Beat the softened cream cheese and butter until smooth, then gradually mix in the sifted powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and yellow food coloring.

6. Transfer the yellow filling to a piping bag and pipe a dollop into the cavity of each brownie.

7. Garnish with a sprinkle of paprika or red sprinkles, then chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. For best results and clean cuts, ensure brownies are completely cool before cutting out the egg shapes.
