Description

A complete guide on how to properly store Zepbound for maximum safety and effectiveness, covering refrigeration rules, room temperature allowances, and travel tips.

Ingredients

Zepbound medication (unopened vial)

Refrigerator (36°F–46°F / 2°C–8°C)

Insulated travel cooler or medical-grade container

Cold packs or mini medical fridge (for travel)

Original Zepbound packaging

Sharps disposal container

Thermometer or temperature indicator strip (optional)

Instructions

1. Keep unopened Zepbound vials stored in a refrigerator at all times between 36°F and 46°F.

2. Do not freeze Zepbound or place it directly against freezer packs or freezer walls.

3. Store Zepbound in its original packaging to protect it from light and sudden temperature changes.

4. If traveling, place Zepbound in an insulated cooler or portable medical-grade refrigerator with cold packs.

5. Ensure cold packs do not directly touch the vial—wrap the vial in cloth or store in a separate compartment.

6. If Zepbound must be unrefrigerated, it can remain at temperatures up to 86°F (30°C) for no longer than 21 days—only once.

7. Once unrefrigerated, do not place Zepbound back in the refrigerator; use or discard within 21 days.

8. After opening or puncturing the vial, continue storing in the refrigerator between each use until completed or expired.

9. Inspect the medication before each use: do not use if cloudy, discolored, or past the expiration date.

10. Dispose of expired or improperly stored Zepbound safely via a local pharmacy or approved take-back program.

Notes

Never expose Zepbound to extreme heat or direct sunlight, even briefly.

If your refrigerator fails or power is lost, transfer the vial to a backup cooler or ask your pharmacist for advice.

Travelers should always keep Zepbound in their carry-on, not checked luggage, to avoid exposure to heat and pressure changes.

Using degraded medication can lead to reduced effectiveness, side effects, or treatment failure—always prioritize correct storage.
