Ingredients
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)
1 tbsp olive oil or butter
Salt, to taste
Black pepper, to taste
Garlic powder, to taste
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1 (1-ounce) packet dry ranch seasoning
1/2 cup milk or heavy cream
Optional: crumbled bacon, shredded cheddar cheese
Optional: fresh chives or parsley, for garnish
Instructions
1. Season chicken on both sides with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
2. Heat oil or butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
3. Sear chicken for 4-6 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through, then remove from skillet and set aside.
4. Reduce heat to medium-low, then add softened cream cheese, ranch seasoning, and milk to the same skillet.
5. Whisk continuously until the sauce is smooth, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
6. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet, spooning the sauce over it.
7. Simmer for 2-3 minutes to allow the flavors to combine.
8. If using, sprinkle bacon and cheese over the top and cover for a minute to melt.
9. Garnish with fresh chives or parsley before serving.
Notes
For a healthier version, use low-fat cream cheese or Greek yogurt and milk instead of heavy cream. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
