Ingredients
1 (8-ounce) can refrigerated crescent roll dough
4 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup whole berry cranberry sauce (homemade or canned)
1 large egg, beaten (for egg wash)
1 tablespoon coarse sugar (optional, for topping)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Unroll crescent dough on a lightly floured surface and press perforations to seal, forming 4 rectangles.
3. Cut each rectangle in half lengthwise, then in half crosswise to make 16 small squares.
4. Ensure cream cheese is softened; microwave for 10–15 seconds if needed.
5. Place 1 teaspoon of cream cheese in the center of each dough square, then top with 1 teaspoon of cranberry sauce.
6. Bring two opposite corners of the dough up and pinch together over the filling, then pinch remaining corners to fully seal.
7. Place bites seam-side up on prepared baking sheet, spacing them 1 inch apart.
8. Brush the tops of each bite with beaten egg for a glossy finish.
9. Sprinkle with coarse sugar, if using, for added texture and sparkle.
10. Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown. Cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Do not overfill the bites to prevent bursting during baking.
Use room temperature cream cheese for easier spreading and sealing.
Make ahead by assembling the bites and refrigerating; add egg wash and bake just before serving.
For a savory twist, try adding chopped herbs, bacon, or jalapeño to the cream cheese.
