Ingredients
1 package Oreo Cookies (regular or Double Stuf)
1 (12-ounce) bag white candy melts
1 cup sweetened shredded coconut
Pastel sprinkles (nonpareils, jimmies, etc.)
1 teaspoon shortening or coconut oil (optional)
Instructions
1. Line baking sheets with parchment paper and place coconut and sprinkles into separate shallow bowls.
2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the candy melts with optional shortening at 50% power in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
3. Using a fork, fully submerge one Oreo in the melted candy and let the excess drip off.
4. While the candy is wet, sprinkle shredded coconut over one half of the Oreo to create the tail.
5. Immediately scatter pastel sprinkles over the other half of the cookie.
6. Carefully place the decorated Oreo on the prepared baking sheet and repeat with remaining cookies.
7. Let the cookies set at room temperature for 30-45 minutes or in the refrigerator for 10-15 minutes until firm.
Notes
Candy melts are recommended for best results. If using white chocolate chips, add 1 tsp of shortening per cup. Store finished cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two weeks.
