Description
A powerful, bariatric-friendly seed recipe designed to aid weight loss, promote fullness, and support metabolism with a nutritious mix of chia, flax, pumpkin, and sunflower seeds.
Ingredients
4 tbsp chia seeds
4 tbsp ground flax seeds
2 tbsp pumpkin seeds (chopped or whole)
2 tbsp sunflower seeds (chopped or whole)
Optional: 1 tbsp sesame seeds
Optional: 1 tbsp hemp seeds
Instructions
1. In a clean, dry jar or airtight container, combine all the seeds.
2. Stir thoroughly to ensure an even distribution.
3. Seal tightly and store in a cool, dark pantry for up to 2 weeks or refrigerate for up to 1 month.
4. To use, sprinkle 1-2 teaspoons over yogurt, oatmeal, cottage cheese, or salads.
5. If adding to smoothies, you can increase the chia content slightly for a thicker texture.
6. Always drink plenty of water to help the seeds expand and support digestion.
Notes
Use ground flax seeds to ensure absorption of nutrients.
Adjust the ratios to taste: add more pumpkin and sunflower seeds for crunch, or more chia for a gel-like texture.
A pinch of cinnamon or turmeric can enhance flavor and offer additional health benefits.
Keep portions moderate (1-2 tbsp daily) to avoid digestive discomfort, especially after bariatric surgery.
